Vintage Folk Art Pine Sculpture with Hand-Drawn Portrait of a Fisherman by David Broderick, Circa 1970s-80s. David Broderick of Prince Edward Island is a folk artist who often works with found objects. Known to create illustrations on discarded items while telling stories. This work features a sailor with a cap and a pipe in his mouth, drawn in marker on a shield-shaped chunk of pine. Seagulls, an anchor and a fishing boat can be seen in the background. Mounted to a minimal pine base. Signed “DB” in the lower left.
