Vintage Large-Scale Industrial Black-Painted Foundry Mold, Circa Mid-20th Century. This commanding piece is half of a threaded foundry mold crafted from pieced wood with a black painted surface. Two pieces would be joined together to create a metal casting with handles at both ends for easy removal from the molding process. This sculptural work is fitted with hanging hardware on the backside for easy mounting to a wall. Unsigned.
Condition: Great vintage condition, surface wear commensurate with age and use, light losses to the paint and abrasions to the wood body (as pictured)
