Antique Grand Tour Sculptural Carved Stone Egg Paperweight, Circa Late 19th - Early 20th Century. Red marbled body constructed with an egg mounted atop a diamond and a larger flat plinth. Likely a grand tour souvenir from travels through Europe.
Condition: Great antique condition, minimal wear with light abrasions to the edges commensurate with age and use. Older fracture along corner repaired earlier in life (possibly from original production), barely visible and does not affect stability of the piece (as pictured).

Antique Grand Tour Fossil Stone with Mounted Vertical Egg Paperweight, Circa Late 19th-Early 20th Century. Fashioned from a fantastic fossilized specimen, the maker perfectly exhibits the graphic variation in the material. The mounted, inverted egg is offset with a rectangular base. Unsigned.
