Vintage Large-Scale Teak Teardrop Fin Sculpture Mounted to Painted Wood Base by Paul Bechtold, Circa Mid 20th Century. Sleek, modernist sculpture of a concave teak fin mounted to a black-painted platform base. Branded, “PEB,” on the underside of the teak portion of the sculpture.
Paul E. Bechtold of Long Island spent majority of his life in the skylight business, all while creating artwork behind the scenes largely constructed from leftover and found material. He collaborated with Frank Lloyd Wright early in his career on the Usonian House, but his personal body of work was largely unknown.
