Vintage Swedish Art Deco Pewter Tabletop Box with Sculpted Shell Finial by Guldsmedsaktiebolaget, Circa 1930s. Streamlined scalloped box with chased beaded detailing along the the edge of the lid. The finial is cleverly designed as a mounted, upright scallop shell, harkening back to the form of the box. The interior is lined in an aubergine velvet. Stamped with the Guldsmedsaktiebolaget maker’s mark on the underside, “Gab Tenn Svensk Vara.” Designed in line with the Swedish Grace Movement of the ‘20s and ‘30s.
Condition: Great vintage condition, wear commensurate with age and use. Surface shows signs of wear of areas of abrasion and a minor loss to the rear hinge which does not affect the stability of the piece (as pictured).
