Vintage Framed Pastel on Paper Titled ,"Remembered Sunset," by Virginia McNeice, Circa 1990. Bucolic landscape of a tree and shrub-lined field with a setting sun rendered in tones of blue, green, teal, coral, lilac, and hits of yellow. Signed in pencil on the lower right of the work, “McNeice 90.”
Labeled on the verso noting the artist, title and medium, “Virginia McNeice Remembered Sunset Pastel.” Exhibited by the Norman S. Rice Gallery and The Albany Institute of History and Art, Albany, NY.
Born in New York City, Virginia McNeice attended Pratt Institute of Art and studied at the Art Student’s League, SUNY Albany, Skidmore College and the Vermont Studio Center. She was a prolific and regionally-renowned landscape artist who drew inspiration from the natural beauty of the countryside and the effects of light at various times of the day. Her work is in private collections, regional galleries, local hospitals and businesses.
