Vintage Teak Mounted Sculpture Trio by Paul Bechtold, a Set, Circa Mid 20th Century
Vintage Teak Mounted Sculpture Trio by Paul Bechtold, a Set, Circa Mid 20th Century. An assemblage of three (3) modernist mixed material sculptures by Paul Bechtold. Each style embodies different proportions, material and scale: a horizontal sliver of teak mounted to a marble base with a steel post, an elongated teak fin sculpture mounted to a travertine base alongside a sculpted nugget of teak mounted to a reclaimed wood base. The nugget sculpture is branded with the artist’s initials “PEB” on the wood base.
*Offered as a set.
Paul E. Bechtold of Long Island spent majority of his life in the skylight business, all while creating artwork behind the scenes largely constructed from leftover and found material. He collaborated with Frank Lloyd Wright early in his career on the Usonian House, but his personal body of work was largely unknown.
