Vintage Acrylic on Canvas + Cardboard Fayum Mummy Inspired Portrait, Circa 1960s-70s. Portrait of a bearded man with dark curly hair, commanding eyes and full lips. Hints of his white clothing with rust striping are barely visible. Inspired by traditional Fayum mummy portraits, a type of naturalistic painted portrait on wooden boards attached to upper class mummies from Roman Egypt. Painted on canvas with a blue-green ground, applied to a cardboard panel. Unsigned.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Minimal surface wear with only light creasing at corners of board.
