Antique Victorian Tunbridge Ware Inlaid Boxes, Circa Mid 19th - Early 20th Century. Produced in England, the earliest forms of Tunbridge Ware date back to the 1680s. Constructed from a mix of multicolor exotic woods, the surfaces of these forms incorporate detailed micro mosaics.
The top surface of the octagon box displays a radial kaleidoscope-like micro mosaic motif in all-natural tones. Birdseye maple sides incorporate a band of dollar sign-like symbols coupled with thin stripes. The lid is hinged, the interior is unlined.
The small rectangular box displays central diamond motifs surrounded by micro mosaic filigree details in salmon, soft green, gold and natural tones. The sides of the box are a green wood, with small natural contrast stripes. Unlined interior.

Condition:
OCTAGONAL: Great antique condition commensurate with age and use. Surface finish variation present. The lid has a slight warp, only visible from the sides showing gaps when closed as detailed in images. Three small losses to interior wood liner (does not affect the function of stability).
RECTANGULAR: Excellent antique condition commensurate with age and use. Light surface finish variation present as detailed in images.
