Antique Folk Art Small-Scale Cliffside Painting in Gilt Frame, Circa Late 19th/Early 20th Century. This delightful seascape depicts a moody, scenic view of a rocky cliff with crashing waves and two small boats set against a mountainous backdrop. The mountains are slightly highlighted by a thin line of light, drawing the viewer into the early morning or dusk scene. Rendered in a minimal palette of steely blues, gray, cream and black. This piece retains its original gilt gesso frame. Signed in pencil on the reverse along the stretcher “Wilbur Marrin?”
