Vintage Folk Art Matchstick Box With Hinged Lid, Circa 1950s
Vintage Folk Art Matchstick Box With Hinged Lid, Circa 1950s. Minimal form with a plinth base, the majority of the surface utilizes matchsticks arranged to create a striped pattern. Cuts of walnut are used throughout the exterior and interior of the main compartment as well as the drawer. All details are considered, down to the diamond shaped drawer pull with a glass rhinestone at its center. The interior compartments are lined in a luscious red fabric with the top compartment sporting a mirror mounted within the lid. Unsigned, Artist unknown.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minimal surface wear and light finish variation. Small losses (a couple missing matchstick components) only concentrated to the lower edge of the box. The interior fabric linings are in excellent condition, with very minimal wear.
