Antique Painted Wood Block Planer Wall Rack, Circa Mid 19th Century. Constructed from a solid block of wood with attached handles, this piece was designed to function as a wood planer for use in carpentry. The central well holds a small wood wedge that would have originally held the blade. Now repurposed as a wall rack or mounted sculpture. Unbranded.
Condition: Great antique condition. Original black painted surface with natural patination from age and use. The right handle is slightly shorter at the base, possibly from a very early break. Does not detract from the overall look or function.
