Vintage Folk Art Ship Sculpture, Circa 1930s. Fantastic folk art ocean liner with stacked wood body construction and wood cylinders employed for the two smokestacks. Small nails surround the edge of the deck as posts with wire attaching each lifeboat crafted of wax over wood. The hand-painted polychrome surface is rendered in a palette of deep teal, wine, clementine, black, and cream. Unsigned.
Condition: Great vintage condition, wear commensurate with age and use. Areas of wear and paint variation as shown. Small remnants of cotton string remain that would have connected each deck nail.
