Antique Red, White and Blue Log Cabin Quilt Top, Circa 1920s-30s. Striking iteration of the log cabin pattern rendered in cobalt blue, ecru and red crepe rayon. Each square alternates in its color layout, adding dimension to the graphic output of the piece. Featuring the requisite central red square, representative of the hearth, the full work is framed within a five-band striped border. Left in an unfinished state by the maker with heavy, irregular white thread base-stitching, the piece works well displayed as wall art. Unsigned.
Condition: Great vintage condition, an unfinished piece with hand-sewn bound edges. Backed in a neutral fabric. Light discoloration to the fabric throughout, wear commensurate with age and use (as pictured). A couple very minimal fabric tears throughout as shown, does not affect the stability of the textile.
