Vintage Folk Art Handmade Rubber Horse Soft Sculpture, Circa Mid-20th Century
Vintage Folk Art Handmade Rubber Horse Soft Sculpture, Circa Mid-20th Century. Horse figure constructed from rubber and black metal dressmaker’s snaps for the eyes and nose. The body is cut from larger pieces of rubber, filled and whip-stitched together along the edges with black thread. The horse’s mane is cleverly crafted from a strip of beige rubber, snipped to create fringe resembling hair. A wonderful folk art sculpture. Unsigned.
Condition: Great vintage condition, small areas of splitting in the rubber along the seams (does not affect the stability of the piece) and light losses to the fringe. Wear commensurate with age and use (as pictured)
Specs: 8 1/4" L | 1 1/4" W | 7" H (STANDING)
