Antique Sculptural Rural Handicraft Bentwood Plant Stand, Circa Late 19th Century. The pyramid base employs use of stacked branches interlaced and nailed together. The top open basket structure is formed from layered steam-bent branches with small areas of striped gold paint left intact. This stand was likely intended to hold a potted plant. Unsigned.

Condition: Great antique condition with areas of wear present. Small losses to ends of some branches within the top vessel, as photographed (does not detract from the overall look or function). The base of the vessel shows signs of water damage, from use with potted plants, but does not detract from the stability of the piece.
