Antique Québecois Yellow Painted Babiche Chair, Circa Early 20th Century. French-Canadian slatted wood chair with an open-weave sinew (babiche) seat. The vibrant yellow painted surface reveals layers of earlier red paint and bare wood, adding texture. Unsigned.
Condition: Good antique condition, surface variation throughout, the frame presents old repairs in the seat rails, wear commensurate with age and active use (as pictured), best employed as an accent chair.
