Antique Handmade Constructivist Painted Pine Accent Table Made in Norwich England, Circa 1895. A striking piece of folk art furniture, the brown painted base resembles architectural framework with crossed square-cut rods connecting to supportive triangular structures. The top surface, originally covered in a burlap or canvas, is assembled from multiple boards arranged in an atypical fashion. A pencil notation and index card on the underside record the history of this piece. Made in Norwich, England by Hy E. Barawell around 1895.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Wear commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound, with tight joints. Areas of paint loss and rubbing present as detailed in images. The top surface is unpainted, and would have originally been covered in fabric. One small break in the base bottom rail, repaired as shown.
