Antique Green Polychrome Pine Knife Box, Mid-Late 19th Century Century. Constructed from pine with original visible square nails. The lively painted surface reveals a darker green paint under the later lime green. The interior spaces are largely left unfinished. Well-used as a utilitarian storage piece, the interiors have softened and smoothed with age. The central divider is crafted with an elongated heart-shaped cutout as a handle for carrying. Unsigned.

Condition: Great antique condition, wear commensurate with age and use. Areas of light abrasion and paint variation adding interest and texture.
