Vintage Cast Glass Vide Poche with Rope Handle Attributed to Audoux Minet, Circa 1960s. Constructed from cast glass, the base is reminiscent of pieces designedly Le Corbusier. The glass incorporates grooved detailing on both the top and underside, creating an optical bubble effect. A double rope handle extends above the base, splaying on each side, perfectly designed to nest within the edge of the dish. Bound detailing along the handle adds interest and structure. A rare find. Unsigned.

Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, were the French-Swiss husband-and-wife duo known for creating playful decorative objects during the mid-20th century. Their focus on rustic style integrated use of organic materials like hemp cord, beech and bamboo. Minet and Audoux spent much of their time in the Provence region, creating homewares inspired by coastal living.

They were members of the Union des Artistes Modernes, a collective of like-minded artists founded in 1929, with other celebrated furniture designers, including Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Francis Jourdain and Louis Sognot. The group promoted simplicity and functionalism.

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. No cracks or chips on glass base. The rope handle is in excellent condition with only very light wear on the cording that binds the ends of each rope.
