Vintage Puerto Rican Pottery Incised Glazed Vessels by Hal Lasky, A Pair, Circa 1963. Embellished with stripe and bowtie incised motifs, the terracotta vessels are glazed in seafoam green and deep teal. The interior of each vessel is also fully glazed. Signed on the underside of each base “Puerto Rican Pottery 63.” These pieces work well as vases, planters or catchalls.

Puerto Rican Pottery Corp. was one of two potteries that established mid-century production of ceramics in Puerto Rico. The company operated from 1948–1966 in Santurce. It was a small government run and federally funded pottery that created hand-built and decorated works produced by young artisans. The workroom was initially headed by Edwin & Mary Scheier, and later by noted potter Hal Lasky.
Condition: Great vintage condition with minimal surface wear. Areas of glaze variation and crazing as detailed in images.
