Vintage New Jersey Seafare Fish Market Framed Photo, Circa 1950s
Vintage New Jersey Seafare Fish Market Framed Photo, Circa 1950s. A great image of a long-past fish market originally located in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. The building boasts a striking neon sign, with a fish jumping out of water. Signs out front and within the glass garage bays list the seafood available for purchase from stripers, lobster and shrimp to bass, eels and clams. Surprisingly, the structure still exists in near same condition, still retaining its charming scalloped wood trim. Sadly, there is no readily available information about the business itself, but it remains a relic of coastal NJ history. A small stamp on the back of the image (within the frame) identifies the photographer as Samuel E. Volovick, likely a local photographer. Framed in a minimal cream painted oak frame.
Condition: Great vintage condition. Light areas of waviness to photo paper and painted frame finish variation as shown.
