Vintage Memento Mori Carved Stone Log Inscribed, "1939." Hand-carved sandstone log detailed along the body to mimic bark with its jagged, open ends. A plaque-like relief in the center is inscribed, “1939,” likely commemorating the passing of a loved one or possibly the the beginning of World War II. This piece could have also been created to showcase the skill of the stone carver. Unsigned.
