Vintage Anodized Cut Steel Beaded Purse with Enamel, Mother of Pearl + Marcasite Detailing, Circa 1930s-40s. The body is fully constructed from anodized cut steel beads in tones of soft blue, gold and lavender in a manner inspired by embroidery techniques. Solid brass hinged frame and closure. Embellishments in mother of pearl, marcasite and enamel in the form of leaves and a central medallion decorate the top closure. A minimal snake chain handle attaches directly to the frame. Cream silk satin lined interior with a single back slip pocket. Unbranded, likely produced in France.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minimal wear. The exterior of the body is virtually perfect with no flaws to note. The interior shows some signs of wear with visible makeup stains, but no presence of rips or abrasion.
