Antique Framed General Store Interior Occupational Photograph, Circa Early 20th Century. A silver gelatin snapshot capturing the daily life of a small shop owner in the early 1900s. The storeowner stands proudly behind the counter flanked by a large coffee grinder, canned goods and advertisements. His three children are positioned in middle of the store, staggered by height. The wall is lined in ornate wallpaper, the store’s shelves fully-stocked with sundries. In the foreground is a wood crate of Procter & Gamble Naphtha Laundry soap, rows of mini pails and a large bushel of bananas. A singular lightbulb hangs in the upper left corner. Framed. Unsigned.
Condition: Great antique condition, natural fogging to the photo surface commensurate with age and use (as pictured)
