Vintage Folk Art Slatted Barrel Chair with Hidden Storage Compartment, Circa Early 20th Century. Likely constructed from a leftover storage barrel, this small scale chair incorporates a seat that also functions with a hinged lid for interior storage. Painted black and robins egg blue, small areas of surface paint loss show at least three layers of earlier paint. The chair is held together with metal wire ties around the body, steel banding and bolts. The lid / seat makes use of two heavy gauge hinges. The interior storage is full painted. Perfect for use as a small side table, or accent chair. Unsigned.
Condition: Great antique condition. Areas of paint loss and surface abrasion commensurate with age and use (as detailed in images).
