Rare Antique Thonet Side Table With Coated Canvas Surface, Circa Late 19th Century. Ebonized bentwood form with splayed legs joined to a sculpted finial and simplified hoof feet. The Large circular tabletop surface is covered in coated canvas. Included in the 1886 Gebrüder Thonet Fréres catalog as a child’s table. Perfect for modern use as a coffee or side table. Original manufacturer’s paper label can be found on the underside of the tabletop.
Condition: Great antique condition, slight pitch to the tabletop (furniture pad has been added to the base of one foot for stability). Wear and surface variation present throughout commensurate with age and use. Slight separation to the tabletop band. As pictured.
