Vintage Seaside Town Painting on Canvas, Circa 1940s. The work features a small seaside town of white-washed buildings with terracotta roofs and a central road leading to the sea. A vertical stripe to the right puts the viewer directly into the scene, as if peeking around the corner of a building for a glimpse of the ocean. The painting is rendered in a soft palette of pastels and natural tones with the architectural elements treated in a simplistic and pared down manner. Unsigned.
Condition: Great vintage condition. Light surface finish variation and two small tears on the right side of the pice (barely noticeable) as pictured.
