Vintage Oil on Canvas Portrait of a Man, Circa 1950s. The subject takes centerstage looking downward in a loosely unbuttoned shirt, casually revealing a slight glimpse of a white undershirt. The hair is full, swept to one one side delivered in black, gray and blue against the warm, sienna skin tone. The artist uses slightly unorthodox colors to bring attention to specific details of their subject. Tinges of blue add sheen to the hair while strokes of green, yellow and pink highlight facial features along the eyes, nose, lips. The background is rendered in a hurried manner relying heavily on a saturated green mixed with an earthy orange tone. Unsigned.
Condition: Great vintage condition, shows signs of wear along the corners with light paint loss. One very small tear to the canvas by the lower edge of the subject’s collar (barely noticeable)
