Vintage Paolo Soleri Carved Pottery Vessel with Radial Motif, Circa 1970s

$428.00

Vintage Paolo Soleri Carved Pottery Vessel with Radial Motif, Circa 1970s. This early molded pottery form was produced at Soleri’s famed Arizona workshop, Arcosanti. Each face incorporates a central carved radial design reminiscent of fish. The surface is left unglazed, with natural yellow coloration largely present on one face from the firing process. Hand signed. A central hole in the base makes this piece perfect as a planter or for dried florals.

Paolo Soleri was an Italian architect. He established the educational Cosanti Foundation and Arcosanti, an "urban laboratory" (so-dubbed by Ada Louise Huxtable, who at the time was the architectural critic of The NY Times) which became internationally renowned in Arizona.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No flaws to note.

Specs: 6 1/4" Height | 6 5/8" Width | 6 1/4" Depth | 3 7/8" Mouth Opening Width | 4 3/8" Mouth Opening Depth
