Vintage Mini Olmec Resin and Crushed Stone Head, Circa 1960s. Attributed to Polish Artist Michael Anthony Zarebski known for his signature mosaic styled "greenstone", a combination of resin with crushed Malachite and other colored stones. Stones in shades of green, tan and turquoise are suspended within the resin giving a multi dimensional look. Base is lined in red velvet. Made in Mexico.

The original Olmec heads are stone representations of human heads sculpted from large basalt boulders. The heads date from at least 900 BC and are a distinctive feature of the Olmec civilization of ancient Mesoamerica.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No flaws.
