Antique Tintype Photograph of 3 Men Drinking with Hand-Tinted Details, Circa Late 19th Century. Captured in this photograph are three figures, two standing and one seated. The outdoor scene shows a home with porch visible in the background. Each figure is holding either a bottle or drink, hand-tinted after printing. Tinting in the photographic process was applied while the plate was still wet. Color was often applied to accentuate jewelry, and to add color to the cheeks. In this case, the pink was applied in a humorous manner, to accentuate the group’s beverages.
