Vintage Folk Art Graduated Shop Bag Stand, Circa 1940s
Vintage Folk Art Graduated Shop Bag Stand, Circa 1940s. Constructed from pine, the vernacular design of this thirteen-level shelf was uniquely crafted for easy access to specific paper bag sizes. Each shelf is numbered according to bag size and grades in width and depth as you move up the body, creating a stepped effect. The top compartment features a recessed circular cutout for twine storage, its edges notched for easy cutting. This shelf retains a selection of original paper bags and Purina horse feed show cards. A handmade piece intended for use in a shop, it can be used as a display shelf perfect for books and small objets. Unsigned.

Condition: Great vintage condition, surface variation present throughout with losses to the painted surface and to the corners (as pictured). Wear commensurate with age and use.
