Antique Multi-Wood Chevron Parquetry Frame Mirror, Circa Mid-19th Century. Thin strips of surface veneer in various woods are layered to create a graphic chevron stripe motif reminiscent of straw marquetry techniques. Diamond-shaped cuts of wood placed at the center of each side add interest. The center of the frame displays large bands of mahogany with a contrast lip along the outer and center edges. Unsigned.
Condition: Excellent antique condition. Likely refinished at some point, but retains all original applied veneer motifs.
