Antique Frame With Stone Collage Mat + Mirror, Circa Late 19th Century. A gorgeous assemblage of natural stones on a black ground with a mahogany wood frame and interior gilt liner. Some of the stones include agate and quartz among many others. Paired with a modern mirrored glass panel. While removing a print added to the interior of the frame, we found an original photo portrait that remains hidden between the backing and mirror panel. Artist Unknown.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with minimal surface wear and light abrasion to wood frame (as detailed in images). Two nails from the attachment of the stone mat slightly puncture the wood frame surface as originally constructed (barely visible). Antique frame paired with new cut mirrored glass.
