Vintage Folk Art Hand-Carved Wood Chains With Hooks, Circa 1950s. Carved entirely from one piece of wood, these chains, also known as “whimsy chains,” were a true labor of love. The large chain is complete with hooks on each end, with the smaller piece having one hook. The center of each chain incorporates a more complicated link construction formed around a central pin that allows the chain to swivel at the center. Likely carved by the same craftsperson, based on the similar details and construction of each.
