Vintage Copper Plated / Bronzed Clam Shell, Circa 1950s

Vintage Copper Plated / Bronzed Clam Shell, Circa 1950s

$148.00

Vintage Copper Plated / Bronzed Clam Shell, Circa 1950s. A popular technique that began in the 1930s for preserving keepsakes, bronzing of this sort was typically reserved for baby shoes. While the shoes are more commonplace, a bronzed shell is quite the oddity. We can only assume that this held strong sentimental value to its owner. Perfect for use as a sculptural object or small vide poche. A rare find. Unsigned.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Light areas of finish variation (green tint to the surface).

Specs: 3 1/4” L | 3 3/4” W | 1” H
