Antique Victorian String Art Framed Octagram Portrait of a Child, Circa Early 20th Century. This intricate folk art frame is constructed from threads in pink, red and olive green, bound over a wood base. A stripe pattern is created as the threads weave around the body of the piece. The center is left an open octagon where a sheet of glass covers a black & white portrait of a child holding a stuffed animal. Unsigned.
Condition: Great antique condition. A few areas of frayed and missing threads throughout commensurate with age and use. Does not detract from overall look and stability of the piece. The reverse was stabilized later in life.
