Antique Folk Art Painted Wood Soldier with Red Coat, Circa Early 20th Century. Carved wood representation of a soldier dressed in full regalia. The figure’s face is beautifully detailed, with a painted mustache and remnants of green felt hat. The body is jointed with nails at the arms and legs, allowing for pose adjustments. An exquisite representation of Folk Art, the figure is painted red, marigold, white, black and tan; showing signs of the original paint’s age. Unsigned.
Condition: Excellent antique condition, possibly mounted previously in life holding two items in hands. Original surface paint and remnants of a full felt hat present.
