$298.00

Antique Cold Packed Corn in a Ball Sure-Seal Glass Jar, Circa 1918. Extraordinary relic from the early 20th century showcasing a World War I innovation in food preservation- the cold packed canning method. Encased are four ears in a Ball Sure-Seal glass jar with an intact rubber seal. Lovingly passed down through generations, this 106 year old heirloom was purchased from the great grandson of the preparer, Robert Ware Stone. Original handwritten label on the front reads, “Canned Cold Pack Method 1918 RW STONE,” with a portion of the label left illegible. Not suitable for consumption but perfect as an oddity in a kitchen, restaurant or store display.

**Archival canning imagery courtesy of the USDA

Condition: Excellent antique condition, with minimal wear. The front paper label shows signs of age with fading and light losses.

Specs: 9 1/2" H | 4 1/4" Base Diameter

** Due to the fragility and nature of the piece, this is available for local delivery and pick-up within the NYC area.
