Vintage Mid-Century Oil on Canvas "Locmariaquer" by Jean Marie le Guen, Circa 1958. Abstract, street-view of the old French commune, Locmariaquer, with vacant buildings stacked along a winding alleyway. Rendered in layers with heavy impasto in unexpected colors - a mauve road against biscuit stone buildings with hunter green shutters and a teal sky. Injected with pops of cerulean and ochre. Mounted within in a silver-painted wood frame. Signed "LEGUEN 58" in the lower left-hand side of canvas, titled "LOCMARIAQUER" on the verso.
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition, some variation and loss present to painted surface and frame, does not detract from the appeal and stability of the piece (as pictured).
